Buy Penny Stocks

When it comes to buying penny stocks, most economists and management consultants have differences of opinion. Some are of the view that it makes sense to invest in them but others advise their clients to avoid these and invest only in blue chips. The best way to understand whether low price shares are viable or not, is to understand the qualities and features of these securities.

The question is: does it make sense to invest in low price shares or will it be considered an unnecessary risk on the part of the investor? The honest answer is that penny stocks may be risky or safe. It all depends on a number of other factors.

If the price of a particular share is low because it is a new entrant into the market, it follows that the low price may not indicate that anything is wrong with that particular security. Therefore, if people want to purchase the shares, they can go ahead and do so. In any case, the concept of an over night success does not exist in the stock market. Most shares which are considered blue chips today have paid their dues, as it were.

A penny stock can only be considered a risk if the firm has been around for a while and yet, its price remains unreasonably low. At this point, it would make sense to look at the factors that make company shares viable or risky from the point of view of the investor. If a stock is considered good, it means it is backed up by a company that has a certain reputation. In this context, reputation means the management profile of the firm, the product offered by the firm and the fact that it pays dividends to investors on a regular basis.

These are the factors that determine the viability or otherwise of a particular security. Now, if a certain stock meets all the requirements above, the investor should go ahead and buy. Whether the price is low or high does not really matter in the long run. Again, there would be no point in mentioning any firm in particular as the best penny stock. What qualifies as a great penny stock today may be bad news tomorrow. That is how fickle the stock market can be.

In the final analysis, it has to be stated that buying penny stocks is not a bad idea. The most important thing is to recognize and buy the ones that have prospects and potential. Investing in the stock market is a long-term thing and this applies to both penny stocks and blue chip stocks.
